Google got a new exciting pilot project that could provide increased visibility in Google Shopping for companies that offer an excellent customer experience.
The purpose of the program is to create motivation to give customers a fantastic buying experience. If the customer experience does not reach a certain level or if you do not provide certain or all the information requested, you may not get the benefits, but you will not be punished either.
At the moment this is a pilot project and is currently only active in the USA.
Google will look at the following criteria:
- Delivery time
- Shipping cost
- Return cost
- Return window
Based on how good a rating a company gets, they can get:
- A boost in Shopping ranking
- A Google Brand (Store Badge)
- Other benefits that will help customers find their products
What does this mean for Brands?
The program is called “Google Shopping Experience Scorecard”. In Europe, it may be referred to as “Quick overview of shopping experience”.
When it is launched in Europe, you will be able to find it in the Merchant Center, with ratings “Excellent”, “Comparable” or “Opportunity”.
